Many people are frustrated with their weight loss efforts because they are not losing the pounds as quickly as they would like. In most cases steady weight loss is preferred over rapid weight loss. With the right diet plan, you can keep your metabolism running at top capacity and steadily burn fat and calories. This results in weight loss that is not necessarily a large amount at one time but a steady reduction without ill effects associated with crash dieting. Crash diets may deplete the body of nutrients and leave the dieter feeling deprived and weak.
A steady weight loss diet would include a nutritional plan that includes healthy foods eaten at regular intervals. Choosing the right foods is important as well. A good diet plan includes calorie burning foods like hot pepper, onion, garlic, berries, celery, cucumber and asparagus to name a small fraction. These foods take more caloric energy to burn than they contain. This means you may actually lose weight by eating them at the right times.
The combination of foods eaten at a certain time may also make a difference in weight loss efforts. Learning when to consume protein, when to consume carbohydrates and when to consume fats. The sources of these dietary components are also important. For example, olive oil would be highly preferable over margarine or animal byproducts like lard because olive oil is rich in monounsaturated fat which is considered a 'good' fat.
For most people, steady weight loss is preferable to fast weight loss because it is safer. By consuming nutrient rich, low calorie foods and exercising regularly, you can often find significant results that may not be immediate but that occur over time. Your diet plan becomes more of a lifestyle, and you learn to enjoy eating healthy foods at the proper times.
